About Recipe

Ginger Milk Tea, often called "adrak wali chai" in India, is a traditional spiced tea that blends milk, tea leaves or powder, and fresh crushed ginger. Ginger has been used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years for its healing properties, especially for digestion, cold relief, and inflammation.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon fresh ginger (crushed)

¼ cup water

1 cup milk

1 to 1.5 teaspoons tea powder

Sugar, to taste

Preparation Time: 3 min

Cooking Time: 7 min

Method

Combine milk, water, and tea powder in a saucepan. Bring it to a boil.

Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Add crushed ginger. Boil again on medium-high heat.

Reduce the heat and let it simmer for a few more minutes.

Add sugar to taste. Boil for another 1–2 minutes.

Strain the tea into cups and enjoy hot

Tip: Always add ginger after the milk starts boiling to prevent curdling.
