Egg pudding or more popularly known as ‘custard’ is a delicious dessert made with Milk, Eggs, and sugar. The history of Egg Pudding can be traced back to ancient Rome, where the elite used to enjoy this dessert. In Europe, during the middle ages, a modernized version of egg pudding emerged, using just the basic three ingredients. Later on, many recipes were brought to light to include flavorings like vanilla, nutmeg or lemon zest. This dessert was adapted to local tastes in Asia and products like custard powder are now seen widely in the market.


Egg - 2

Milk- ½ liter

Sugar - 5 tsp

Elachi - a pinch (Powder)

Preparation Time: 10 min

Cooking Time: 60 min


In a bowl, crack two eggs, and whisk until fluffy.

Once the eggs are fluffy, add boiled milk. Beat again.

Then add Sugar, Elachi powder and mix it well without any lumps.

Transfer the mixture into the cooking bowl. Using the double Boil method, boil it for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, make sure to cool it and then refrigerate it for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, it is ready to be served. Enjoy!
