Crispy onion ragi pakodas: Wholesome blend of ragi flour, onions, and spices, fried to perfection.

Onions - 1 cup thinly sliced

Ragi Flour/Finger Millet Flour - 1/4 cup

Besan - 2 tsp

Rice Flour - 1 tsp

Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp

Red Chili Powder - 3/4 tsp

Salt as required

Oil for deep frying

Preparation Time: 15 min

Cooking Time: 20 min


Mix all ingredients in a bowl except oil. Rub nicely with hands. Keep aside for 10 minutes.

The onions will leave water and you will be able to bind onions. Sprinkle few spoons of water and mix well to get a thick dough.

The dough should not be soggy and drippy. Else it will soak up lot of oil.

Heat oil in a pan after few minutes test the oil by dropping small quantity of dough. The dough should rise to the top without burning and not sinking is the right stage.

When it is hot enough, drop the dough in small quantities.

Cook in medium heat till crispy and cooked well.

Transfer the pakodas in paper towel and drain the excess oil.

Serve with your favourite chutney and hot cup of coffee.
