Millet flakes - 1 cup
Mustard - ½ tsp
Urad dal - ½ tsp
Cumin - ½ tsp
Onion - 1 chopped
Green chilli - 2 slited
Carrot -1 grated
Coconut - 2 tsp grated
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Salt - As required
Preparation Time: 10 min
Cooking Time: 10 min
Place the flakes in a colander and wash them in running tap water and keep aside.
In a pan add oil, once its hot add mustard let t splutter then add urad dal. Once the dal turns golden brown add onion, chilli, salt and saute for 2min.
Now add the grated coconut, carrot give it a quick toss and add the millet flakes.
Now sprinkle a few tsp of water and mix. Then cover and cook for a few minutes. Shouldn’t add more water that will make the flakes mushy.
Garnish the upma with coriander leaves and lemon juice and serve hot.
