Ingredients

Rice flour - 2 cups

Gram flour - ½ cup

Jeera - 1 tsp

Pinch of hing

Roasted chana dal - 2 tbsp

Oil as required

Water as required

Butter - 1-2 tbsp

Salt as required

Preparation Time: 15 min

Cooking Time: 20 min

Method

In a large mixing bowl take rice flour.

Further to that add besan and powdered roasted chana dal.

Also add cumin seeds, hing and salt.

Add butter and crumble well with flour.

Now gradually add water and knead the flour to make smooth dough.

Furthermore, take star mold and fix it to the murukku press/chakli maker.

Also grease the murukku press/chakli maker with some oil.

Now take some dough and place it inside the murukku press/chakli maker.

Tighten the lid and start preparing chaklis.

Directly press the murukku press/chaklis into oil breaking into 3-4 inch pieces. fry murukku on medium flame.

Flip the murukku/chakli and fry till they turn golden brown and crispy from both sides.

Drain them on a paper towel.

Finally, serve murukku/chakli with masala tea or masala milk.
